Battle Dress: A Woman's View
Sep 23, 2010 - Oct 07, 2010

The art exhibit “Battle Dress: A Woman’s View” is designed and dedicated to enlightening the public community to the complex views of women who serve in the United States Military.

This event is part of the 2010 Beaufort Shrimp Festival and Lt. Dan Weekend, October 1-4, 2010. Read more here about the Independence Fund, which supports injured troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Curated by wounded veteran, Laura Sellinger, and with the assistance of the National Veteran’s Art Museum, and Lt. Dan Band leader Kimo William’s United States Vietnam Arts Project, the exhibit features the works of both emerging and established artists and focuses on the richness and diversity of their art. From traditional to new media, these brave and honorable artists offer a unique window to war in the American experience that deserves a broad audience.

The reception with the artists and veterans is Thursday, September 31, 2010, 5:30pm-until.
